About Mesa Mini Split San Diego
Mesa Mini Split San Diego offers and manages ductless mini split installation, replacement, repair and maintenance in San Diego and San Diego County, for houses, condos, ADUs and light commercial spaces. The HVAC work itself is performed by licensed and insured contractors holding the California C-20 license.
The work we coordinate
Ductless systems suit homes with no ductwork, and rooms the existing ducts do not reach, because they need no duct runs, only a small opening for the line set at each head. A project starts with the rooms that need cooling or heating and ends with a commissioned system and the paperwork for it. Emergency repair is available 24/7.
- Single-zone installation: One indoor head and one outdoor unit for the room that needs it most, sized by load and routed cleanly to the outside.
- Multi-zone and whole-home: One outdoor unit serving several indoor heads, with each room sized on its own load and every drain, line and control planned together.
- Mini split repair: Diagnosis and repair for ductless systems from any installer, with the failed part named and tested before money is spent.
- 24/7 emergency repair: Round-the-clock repair for mini splits that fail in a heat wave, leak into ceilings, cool a server room or show signs of an electrical fault.
- Mini split replacement: Replacing a failing or outdated mini split, with every line set, drain, bracket and circuit checked before it is reused.
- Maintenance and cleaning: Routine service, deep cleaning of indoor heads, coastal coil care and drain checks for mini splits from any installer.
- ADU installation: Heating and cooling of its own for a backyard cottage, attached unit, garage conversion or JADU, matched to the unit's Title 24 paperwork.
- Garage installation: Cooling and heating for a garage workshop, gym or office, sized for the garage's real walls, door and roof rather than its floor area.
- Condo installation: A mini split for one unit in a shared building, planned around the CC&Rs, common-area walls and roofs, the unit's own panel and the new HOA laws.
- Room addition installation: Heating and cooling for a new addition, sunroom or bonus room, sized for its own load and fitted into the construction schedule.
- Ceiling cassette installation: A recessed ceiling head that disappears into the room, planned around the framing, the attic and the drain.
- Concealed duct installation: A slim air handler hidden in the attic, a soffit or a closet, feeding one room or a few nearby rooms through short ducts and grilles.
- Commercial installation: Light commercial mini splits for offices, retail, restaurant dining rooms, small warehouses and multifamily common areas.
- Server and IT rooms: Round-the-clock cooling for server rooms, IT closets and network rooms, sized from the equipment's heat and planned for failure.
Licensed contractor fulfillment
Mesa Mini Split San Diego sets up and manages each project; the work is carried out by a licensed HVAC contractor working to these standards.
- Licensed and insured C-20 contractors. The installation and repair work is performed by licensed and insured HVAC contractors holding the California C-20 (warm-air heating, ventilating and air-conditioning) classification. A license number can be checked with the Contractors State License Board.
- Room-by-room load calculation. Equipment is sized from a Manual J load calculation for the rooms being conditioned, not from square footage alone, so a coastal bedroom and an inland family room are not given the same head by default.
- Permits and inspections. The contractor pulls the permit from the building department for the address (the City of San Diego, the County for unincorporated areas, or the city) and coordinates the inspections.
- Commissioning to the manufacturer's specifications. Every refrigerant circuit is pressure tested with nitrogen, evacuated and checked with a micron gauge, and charged to the manufacturer's specifications before the system runs in cooling and heating.
- A written, itemized scope. The quote names the equipment, the location of every head and the outdoor unit, the line set and drain routes, the electrical work and what is excluded, so it can be compared with any other quote.
How a job runs
First call
Which rooms, how the house is used, whether there are ducts, and your ZIP code. That alone tells us the climate zone and the permit office.
Site visit
Room measurements for the load calculation, the panel and breaker space, the wall the head mounts on, and where the outdoor unit can go.
Written scope
Equipment, line-set length, line-hide, drain method, electrical work and the permit, itemized so two quotes can be compared line by line.
Install and start-up
The system is mounted, piped, wired, pressure tested, evacuated and started; then you are shown the remote, the filters and the drain.
How pricing works
The guides explain what moves the price of a mini split in San Diego, and the cost estimator gives a planning range before anyone visits. The price for a specific home comes in a written quote after the site visit and load calculation, once the head locations, line set routes and electrical work are known.
Where we serve
Projects run across San Diego and San Diego County, from the beach towns to the inland valleys. The area pages cover how climate, housing and permit offices change the work from place to place.
How to ask about a project
Say which rooms you want cooled or heated, the ZIP code and the kind of home. For a system that has stopped working, say what it is doing. The next step after a request is arranging a site visit.
